As it is already known as of May 16, 2010 pharmacies will notify all their dispatches to the Turkish Pharmaceutical Track and Trace System and get an approval for all the dispatched products from the system.

A unit under the name “Reimbursement Company without a Provision System (GLN: 8680001001774)” has been created for products which the pharmacies sell in cash against prescription in the Turkish Pharmaceutical Track and Trace System. It is required that pharmacies make the dispatch notifications of prescriptions which are thought to be reimbursed by a reimbursement company over this Reimbursement Company without a Provision System.

In such dispatches the pharmacist will save the prescription to the pharmacy software which is used in his/her pharmacy and make the dispatch to the indicated institution. The pharmacy software will use the Prescription Number generated uniquely in their system during the dispatch notification.

The Reimbursement Company on the other hand will inquire the drug dispatch information from the Turkish Pharmaceutical Track and Trace System using the Pharmacy GLN and prescription number on the received prescription. The dispatch notifications made to the Reimbursement Company without a Provision System can be inquired by all the reimbursement companies and the dispatch information will be terminated by the reimbursement company which inquires it first.

Note: For the dispatches made to patients without an insurance company and without a prescription by pharmacies the “0000000000000” GLN number is still being used and no prescription information is requested.
