It is necessary that our stakeholders take the below listed issues into consideration during the ITS transition period:

• As it is already known as of May 16, 2010 the reimbursement companies will start to control the pharmacies’ dispatches of products with DataMatrix on condition that products with DataMatrix get an approval from the system through the Turkish Pharmaceutical Track and Trace System without the clipping off of the barcode or any part of the drug package and make the payments through these controls. Thus all it may concern should comply with these issues accordingly.
• As of May 01, 2010 not a single product without a DataMatrix will be able to be transferred in any condition from companıes to pharmaceutical wholesalers or from pharmaceutical wholesalers to pharmacies. Such products will either get DataMatrix labels or recalled under the responsibility of the pharmaceutical companies.
• As of May 01, 2010 all the registrations of the products with DataMatrix which have not yet been registered will be completed. The necessary actions will be taken for products whose DataMatrix have not been registered  to the system are located in the inspections made after this date by the Ministry.
• If there are products in the market with DataMatrix and their barcodes have not been cancelled companies should cancel the barcodes on these products latest at May 15, 2010. Inscriptions like “ITS”, “With DataMatrix”, “With D.Matrix” and “Includes DataMatrix” on barcode clip offs will be accepted as cancelled on all products and the if such clip offs are clipped off as of May 16, 2010 they will not be reimbursed.
• Cold chain products which need to be stored under 8 degrees Celsius are out of the scope stated above and operations on such products will not be made. No cold chain products will be returned to the pharmaceutical wholesalers during this process.
• Surcharge labels or similar applications to change the prices on the packages will not be made by the companies in case there is a change in prices on products which have price information on the package along with the DataMatrix, instead the products will be offered for sale with the prices labeled on the products. If necessary the prices will be checked from the “Price Query” section of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency internet webpage and thus handed over to the patient.
